The Business Seminar Series

The Business Seminar Series is a fun, informative program held throughout the school year designed to provide students with networking opportunities as well as to provide insight into business practices and personal knowledge and skills not necessarily covered in coursework. The Business Seminars are typically hosted by a business/industry partner in a setting ranging from more formal "sit down" dinners to less formal "finger food" settings, provide PKI students an opportunity to "rub elbows" with high profile executives from businesses holding a collaborative partnership with PKI. This interactive program addresses such topics as: Communications and Professional Ethics, Time Management and Managing Expectations, The Bottom Line - Managing Your P&L's and Project Management, Leadership: What It Really Means, Interpersonal Skills, Personality Types, Negotiating Skills, Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital, the Legal Edge, Intellectual Property, Networking Skills and Volunteerism. Look for upcoming events on the PKI website..

Business Information and Opportunities for Students (BIOS)

Watch for business/industry partners to make an appearance at PKI in the first floor atrium or at specially arranged seminars for PKI students. Attend to learn about career opportunities with featured businesses and take advantage of the situation to network with representatives from featured firms. Firms recently featured at BIOS include ConAgra Foods, the Nebraska Department of Roads, Cox Communications, Mutual of Omaha, Kiewit Construction, Northrop Grumman, Apple Computer, IBM, Microsoft, and others. See Doug Bahle in the Career Resource Center if you have questions.

Mock Interview Program

This innovative new program provides PKI students an opportunity to "practice" interviewing skills before a panel of experts representing PKI business partners. Students are provided a 45 minute interview that consists of the interview, a feedback session and a critique of their resume. Professionals from about forty (40) business partners have been represented at the Mock Interview program recently. The Mock Interview program is held on Tuesday afternoons at PKI during fall and spring semesters.
