PKI Academy of Sustainable Environments & Renewable Resources

This Academy focuses on the growing need to promote green building practices, technologies, policies and standards to build an environmentally responsible, economically profitable, and healthy future for the region. At the Academy, students experience interactive workshops including sustainable construction and energy efficiency and tours of the NU Zero Net Energy Test Houses (ZNETH & ZNETH II). The Academy also includes hands-on demonstrations in several of our state-of-the-art labs. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, there is no cost to attend the Academy. Participants must be rising high school seniors (class of 2014) from a Nebraska, Iowa or Midwest state. Selection criterion is based upon academic achievement as well as extracurricular involvement and leadership experience.
