Ph.D. Candidates Welcomed to PKI for Annual Symposium

2012 Ph.D. Symposium
Dr. Eddy Rojas, Director of the Durham School, welcomed 15 Ph.D. candidates to the Peter Kiewit Institute for the second annual Durham School Ph.D Symposium March 14 through the 17th. The symposium is a unique three-day event specifically organized to boost collaboration, foster the spirit of innovation, and open communication among doctoral students in an interdisciplinary environment consisting of Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management. The 2012 symposium provided an opportunity for attendees to share their research accomplishments as well as review groundbreaking research conducted by their peers. Additionally, guests of the symposium were treated to tours of the School's engineering facilities in Lincoln and Omaha, while introducing them to the research activities at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. The 15 guests invited to participate in this year's Ph.D. Symposium were selected from a pool of highly talented candidates from some of the top universities around the nation.
